Live and indexable are different things
A site can load perfectly and still be invisible: a stray disallow in robots.txt, a noindex left over from staging, or a sitemap nobody updated. Each of those is silent. Nothing breaks, traffic just never arrives, and the cause is usually a single line that has been wrong since launch.
Why this matters before a launch
Press coverage points at your site. If the pages it points at cannot be crawled, the authority those links carry has nowhere to land and the search benefit of the campaign evaporates. Checking takes seconds and is worth doing the week before the wire goes out rather than the month after.
